Bulb name

Figuring out the light bulbs names can be pretty confusing. They have letters and numbers combined that are the acronym for the product names. It is difficult to buy the right product w ithout understanding what its name means. Therefore, we put together this breakdown of how to better understand and define each model number. This way you can properly purchase the right light bulb.

The light bulb shape and size are named within the model number as a code. The code takes a letter-number-letter format (though the last letter is optional). The leading letter/letters indicate the shape and the numbers indicate the diameter. (The final, optional letter can designate the length.

The numerical part of the shape code represents the widest part of the bulb measured in eighths of an inch. If you divide the number in the shape code by 8, the resulting answer is the diameter of your bulb in inches.
